Success measurement

The results of every client’s detailed logs and extensive lab tests at the beginning and the end of the treatment program are stored in an anonymous database allowing us to monitor the success of our program. There are two scientific ways we monitor the program effectiveness. First, how much alcohol consumption decreased after starting the program, in comparison to the average during the two weeks before treatment. Second, a measure of liver enzymes. A decrease in Gamma GT values usually indicates decrease in drinking so we measured this before and after the program.

Detailed results

A survey of 147 clients from the first clinic to use this method showed that 78% of clients reduced their drinking to less than half of what it was when they began the program or to below a level of increased risk for mortality and morbidity. 25% of clients reported having been abstinent during the last month of the program. 12% of clients were unsuccessful with the most common reason being failure to follow instructions. Over 10k people have been received this treatment, but the long-term efficacy of the program is still to be seen as this method is still young in the medical community.
